Welcome

There are currently 109 alumni and 279 students/faculty/guests
registered to attend Wall Street Weekend.

We are delighted to welcome all of The Claremont Colleges' students, faculty, alumni, and community members to our inaugural Wall Street Weekend. Wall Street Weekend is a 7-College finance conference and networking event that offers a unique opportunity for all attendees interested in finance.

This year's event will consist of a dinner reception on the evening of October 12th, followed by prominent alumni speakers on two panels and a keynote speaker on the morning of the 13th. This year's panels will discuss issues pertaining to Hedge Funds and Private Equity. After the talks have concluded, we will have social networking events for alumni and students on and off campus, as well as a dinner on Saturday evening.

The weekend aims are to draw attention to the Claremont Colleges as a great source of potential employees in the financial sector. We all hope to expose students already interested in finance to the various careers in the field as well as expose those students who have not yet shown interest in finance to the field in general. Finally, the weekend aims to provide the over 2,000 Claremont alumni working in finance the opportunity to network amongst themselves and hopefully establish successful and lasting business relationships.

This conference was designed and planned solely by students. On our own initiative we began the planning process in January of this year. As a student-run organization, we are honored to have such a distinguished group of speakers at the inaugural Wall Street Weekend and would like to thank them for volunteering their time and sharing their insights with us. We are also grateful to all of the Claremont Colleges whose generosity and support make our event possible. Specifically, we would like to thank the Claremont McKenna College Financial Economics Institute, the Pomona College Department of Economics, the Pomona College Public Events Committee and the Career Services, Career Development, and Alumni Affairs Offices from each of the Claremont Colleges.

We hope that you will enjoy this year's weekend and find this event valuable. We are truly grateful for your support and participation, and look forward to seeing you in the fall for what should be a wonderful event.
